Show a second take as a window over the picture
A video insert shows one of your layers as a second window over the picture, for example a close-up of your hands over the wide shot. It is a window onto a layer that is already in the project, so its sound, effects and timing stay those of that layer. You drag, pinch, resize and rotate it on the paused preview. Video inserts are free.
You need: A project with a video layer to show.

Add the insert
In the Timeline, tap + and choose Video insert under Overlays.

Choose the layer
Show which layer? lists your layers. Tap one.

Place it
Pause and tap the insert. Drag it to move it (it snaps into place); long-press and drag to place it freely; pinch or drag the corner dot to resize it; turn it with two fingers, which snaps every 45°.

Set when it shows
The insert shows for as long as its layer's clip runs. Trim or move that clip on its lane to change it.

Style it
In the insert editor, set the opacity, a colour key that removes a background colour, and the look of the edge.

Does the insert have its own sound?
No. It is a window onto a layer; the sound and the effects are those of that layer.
