Titles, lower thirds and captions in your music video

Text overlays are titles and captions that you place on the timeline: an intro title with the song and the artist, a lower third with a name, a section label such as Chorus, or an end card. Musaic has nine presets, eleven ways to animate a text in and out, and four backgrounds. Text overlays are free.

You need: Nothing extra. Text overlays are free.

Steps

  1. Open the Timeline

    Move the playhead to where the text should start and tap +.

  2. Choose Title or Text

    Under Overlays, Title adds an Intro Title of 4 seconds, Text adds Free Text.

  3. Pick a preset

    Intro Title, Lower Third, Typewriter, Pop Caption, Kinetic Word, CTA / Follow, Section Label, End Card or Free Text.

  4. Animate it

    Choose how the text comes in and goes out: None, Fade, Pop, Slide, Typewriter, Bounce, Rise, Blur, Line Reveal, Bar Wipe or Mask Rise. The background can be None, Bar, Pill or Glass.

  5. Place and time it

    Drag the text on the picture, and drag its clip on the timeline to set when it shows.

Features

  • Intro Title

    Song title and artist, revealed line by line.

    Name and role at the lower left, on a bar.

  • Kinetic Word

    One big word, pulsing on the beat.

  • CTA / Follow

    A call to action with an icon and confetti.

  • Section Label

    Chorus, Verse and the like, at the start of each part.

  • End Card

    The closing card at the end of the video.

Good to know

  • Can a text follow the beat?

    Kinetic Word pulses on the beat. The other presets animate in and out at the start and end of their clip.
