Generate bass, drums and keys from your chords

Autogenerate adds a bass line, keys and drums to your song. It uses the chords and the beat that chord detection found in your take, plays them with a sound and a pattern you choose, and puts each part on its own layer, which you can mute, delete or regenerate. Autogenerate is part of Musaic Pro, together with chord detection.

You need: Musaic Pro, and a take with detected chords (see chord detection). Drums only need the beat.

Steps

  1. Open Autogenerate

    Tap Add layer and choose Autogenerate ("Bass, drums and keys from the take's chords"). Without chords, it offers Detect chords + beat first.

  2. Pick a part

    Choose Bass, Keys or Drums.

  3. Choose the sound

    Any sound of that family: for example Fingered Bass, Acoustic Grand or the Acoustic Kit.

  4. Choose the pattern

    Bass and keys: Re-strike every bar or Hold until the chord changes. Drums: from Kick on the one to Backbeat + hats.

  5. Keep or redo

    The part lands on its own layer. Open the same part again to change the sound or the pattern; it replaces the layer instead of adding another.

Drum patterns, quietest first

  • Kick on the one Pro

    One kick at the start of every bar.

  • Pickup and Backbeat Pro

    A pickup into the bar, or the snare on two and four.

  • One and three, Kick on every beat Pro

    Kicks on one and three, or on every beat.

  • Four on the floor, Backbeat + hats Pro

    The dance pattern, and the backbeat with hi-hats.

Good to know

  • Can I edit the notes?

    The generated part is a layer like any other: mute it, delete it, give it effects, or generate it again with another sound or pattern.
